ABOUT the Artist
Li Hui Tsai is an artist and art critic based in Taiwan but spends some of her time in London and the UK. She is interested in producing and promoting original oriental and western arts. She is also a scholar, literary critic and assistant professor by profession. She received her PhD from Queen Mary, University of London. Her art works including oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, illustrations and line drawings are inspired and influenced by William Blake, J. M. Turner, John Singer Sargent, Edgar Degas, the Impressionists, Alfons Maria Mucha, the Surrealists and Japanese Comic Artists among many other great artists. There will be an exhibition of her portrait paintings in oil on canvas next year. It’s part of a group exhibition of her, her art mentor and her fellow artists at National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, to be held from 21 February to 10 March 2025. The proposal of this group exhibition has been recently examined and accepted by the art commission authorities of the National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. The competition this year is particularly fierce and she is glad that they have made it. The art commission authorities of the Memorial Hall says that press release for this exhibition will come out in this August.
